Our Repair Service

If you already have a hearing aid but it is not working or broken, we may be able to help you out!

We will book you an appointment to assess the hearing aid and see if it can be fixed there and then. If not, we can send it off to be repaired.

What does it cost?

Hearing Aid Assessment fee – £30

Some minor issues will be covered within this charge, and the hearing aid will be repaired there and then, so you don’t have to be left without it.

Repair fee – £35 – £300

If the repair is more complex it may need to be sent off. We will get you a quote and obtain your agreement before proceeding with the repairs. The cost varies depending on what needs doing.

Our Aftercare Service

At The Hearing Place we are sometimes asked to look after hearing aids bought elsewhere. There are a few reasons why clients may be looking for an alternative provider of their aftercare. They may have moved away from the area they originally bought their hearing aids. They may not be being looked after very well by their existing provider and lose confidence in their provider’s ability to get the best from their hearing aids. They may not be satisfied with the level of aftercare they are receiving and need better support.

Our clients get a full aftercare package when they buy their hearing aids from The Hearing Place, and we can ‘take you under our wing’ if you want us to look after you too (at a cost for our professional time). Of course, the best value is to buy your hearing aids with built in aftercare so you have peace of mind.

We offer 3 aftercare packages and an extended warranty option.

Option 1 - £400 per hearing aid

Full aftercare package for 5 years from purchase of package or until aid(s) are 7 years old, whichever is soonest. Includes initial full hearing assessment, programming, and adjustments for the duration of the package.

Option 2 - £360

Initial full hearing assessment, programming and adjustment. If necessary, one follow-up programming appointment in included within one month. Cost is for a single or pair of hearing aids.

Option 3 - £80

Follow-up appointments, programming and adjustment and in-house repair work. Cost is for one visit and covers a single or pair of hearing aids.

Extended Warranty - £200 per hearing aid

For clients who bought their hearing aid(s) from us with a 2-year warranty. Ongoing full aftercare until the hearing aid(s) are 5 years old. Includes reassessments, programming, and adjustments.

N.B. Please note, our aftercare packages DO NOT cover the cost of repairs and consumables such as filters, domes, batteries, receiver wires, custom-made earpieces, tubes, and other accessories needed for the general upkeep of hearing aids.

These aftercare packages are designed solely to cover our professional time and assume you will attend our clinic at Clifton Moor in York to receive your service. There will be an additional charge if a home visit is required – POA.
